That coil whine thing is very weird. A graphics card should draw most of its power through the PCIe cables going to the card, direct from the PSU. Only a small fraction is drawn through the PCIe slot, and it#x27;s limited to 75W maximum. What you can try is, on MSI Z590 boards there is this useless PCIe power plug down at the bottom of the PCB. As such I have come to the conclusion that the SSD slot on these laptops do not accept m2 ssd#x27;s and can only use NVMe/PCIe drives. This was a big disappointment as I have no intention of buying a new NVMe just for this laptop and I will be probably returning it as there is very noticeable coil whine on top of everything else. As long as your PSU isn#x27;t garbage which it isn#x27;t, it#x27;ll be fine as the cable must be spec#x27;d to carry upto 300W assuming it#x27;s a pair of 62 pin PCIe cables. Coil whine is a noise that is caused by vibrations in electromagnetic coils, for example in the video card or another component in your PC or notebook. When electric current passes through an inductor, the copper wire in this component will vibrate against the core. This may result in a high, audible frequency. Coil whine can happen when there#x27;s just the right amount of pulses sent through the inductors... maybe by changing the duty cycle of the switching controller / changing the number of pulses through inductors, the noise will be less pronounced. Tried that but it makes no difference probably because my GPU only draws like 50 of TDP.

PCI-E generation doesn#x27;t really matter when we are talking about sound cards - they don#x27;t require much bandwidth. You can fit the card in any available PCI-E slot. Bought first she had coil whine when game started from day 1 and the pcie plastic had a scratch not pcb , send back and got refund, bought the next from other store local pickup she had coil whine when starting games you could hear it from 2 rooms away, third exchange on the store with a new card this had a drop of voltage on the games every 10. Daisy chaining in this case would be using a single power supply cable for multiple 62 PCI-E slots on the GPU. Recently, graphics cards have become exceedingly picky about the power they pull. Daisy chaining your PCIE power cables to your GPU could potentially be causing issues because the power draw is not properly regulated.
